Review of the year time then
People start doing their 'review of the year' posts and I get all waily and hates it because I've never done anything. I'm still disabled, I'm still studying at City College, and I'm still kind of limited in my social connections. And then I get all miserable.

So. Okay. This is the happy review of the year, wherein I list all the things that actually worked, and leave out the ones that didn't.

And there were a ton of things that worked. I had a much better this year than I had a last year. Or a year before that. There's been actual solid progress on all fronts. Shiny!

upstairs opposite are having an early morning visit from police.
not a shouty break the door down one, so that's nice.
just persistent standing there waiting for them to open the door.

Cleaner is here. Yaay!
Cleaner for New Year's Eve? Doesn't sound like a fun job.
But I shall have clean house.

There's an animated Sinbad on TV right now that uses an interesting mix of flat and complicated computer animation. It seems to use the 3D computer looking stuff for the magical or divine bits, and the flat stuff for the everyday people. If that's the divide it's a good idea. But I'm not sure it's consistent.
There's an action bit with Sirens and waterfalls and stuff right now that's really fun.
There's also apparently only one girl character. No, wait, one girl and one goddess. That's still a likely auto-fail on the talk test.

I'm up to October on my review of the year and feeling pretty cool about the year.

Review of the other half of the year
I got as far as the start of June in my Happy Review Of The Year and it was a really long post.
So now I'm making another one.

The good thing is the concentrating on the happy seems to be working, and instead of new year's eve depressing I have a whole 'wow, that was a year!' kind of feel.

And then it was now
and I skimmed every single LJ entry all year
and decided that actually I had a whole lot of cool stuff happen this year

there was sadness
but also lots of growth

so 2008
pretty good year

As for my year in fic: It's a really short list. There's a couple of drabbles and ficlets right at the start of the year. And then there's

Siren Scent

an actual proper script format Torchwood episode fanfic.

There would be another one of those but (a) no beta and (b) persistent feeling I need to rewrite it completely with one less character.

But clearly it will be brilliant when it finally exists.
